3 shapes – triangle, square, rectangle
3 colors – red, yellow and blue
3 meals – breakfast, lunch dinner
3 Bears
3 Little Pigs
3 Billy Goats Gruff
and all are written with a beginning, a middle and an end.
Most recently – Winter Olympic medals awarded:
Gold – Silver – Bronze
And Saturday, I asked during the facetime call:
Are you 1?
Her head nodded no.
Are you 2?
Her head nodded no.
Are you 3?
A big smile appeared.
Her head nodded up and down, yes!
She lifted her right hand, showing just her pinky, ring finger and third finger.
She’s three!
My granddaughter, Aden turned 3 on Saturday!!

What else comes in threes??!!
Three! That went quickly! So precious!
I remember three being more challenging than two. (Four and five were sweet spots.) I bet it’s easier when you’re the grandparent since you can leave everything behind at the end of the day.

Now you have me thinking about threes. I have three boys, but that’s a personal 3. How about s’mores have 3 ingredients? Or a stop light has 3 colors. My (elementary) science teacher hat also adds that there 3 states of matter. Ooo – stop, drop & roll. Hm, now I wonder if there is a reason why so many things are in threes. Other than the 3’s associated with stories, I’ve not thought about that. : )

Love that big smile!
I wrote tricubes with my writing club this morning—three stanzas of three lines of three syllables. Fun form.

WOW! Thanks for sharing about this poetry form. So much I still need to learn about kinds of poems. I may need to give tricubes a try!

That picture at the end is the perfect ending to your focus on 3! It’s a great age, in my book; however, the grandma in me says they are all great ages!

That smile! Oh, Sally, she is precious! I like thinking of all the things that are threes – – the trinity, the fairy tale characters, and so much more. Three is a great age to be!

Oh, Sally, congratulations! Happy birthday, Aden! Fun post of threes! What else comes in threes? dimensions, height, length, and depth. And the three monkeys, see, hear, speak no evil! Three is a fun age. I never stop enjoying my 3-year-old grandson, even when his age changes. So, like Anita said, all the ages are great.

I love how you structured this! I was not expecting it to turn into a beautiful birthday wish! I am not one to point out typos, but I love the word “restangles” and am thinking about how I could define it! It might just be a March slice! 🙂
